Mission: Feeding America Truck

One of missions is partnering with the Feeding America Truck that comes to White Cloud monthly. Most of the food that the Food Bank gathers from donors gets to clients through 1,250 local food pantries and other local hunger relief agencies.
However, many communities in our 40-county service area don’t have enough local agencies—or any at all. That’s why, in 1998, the Food Bank turned a used beverage truck into its first Mobile Pantry.
Today, Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank operates a fleet of 11 Mobile Pantries. Hosted by local churches and other organizations, they visit communities at pre-arranged locations, such as church parking lots, for a minimal fee (to help offset operating costs). Last year, they distributed more than 9.3 million pounds directly to hungry clients.
